CORONAVIRUS APPROACH UPDATE
Dear Valued Clients,
We have spent the last several months learning more than we ever imagined about the coronavirus that has been named COVID-19. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who have already been affected by this crisis, and we hope that all of our clients and all of their families, friends, and colleagues stay as safe as they possibly can as this crisis unfolds.
BayState Law Group, PLLC has begun planning for an approach to this situation. Our plan first and foremost focuses on the health and well-being of our employees, partners, clients, and our communities. We have now begun implementing the first steps of the plan which includes having our employees work remotely as much as possible in order to reduce the risk of human-to-human transmission of this virus in our workplaces.
As we try to limit human-to-human transmission we have now stopped in person meeting until further notice. If you do not have one already we encourage you to make a Google Mail account. This account is free and easy to make. With a Google Mail account, we can do video conference calls and normal phone calls. Once your Google Mail account is set up please either email or call in the office to let us know what your email is, even if you believe we have it. If you need help setting up this please do not hesitate to contact this office.
Any client with a hearing scheduled in the month of March and April will be contacted throughout this week. We will contact you in regards to your case. Some hearings will be cancelled and some conducted on the courts video conferencing system. For this time please assume you still need to be available on your Court date, most likely by phone. If the situation improves you could be required to attend in person, however at this time Courts are limiting in person hearings.
With that in mind if you have any documents that we need to utilize for your case it will be imperative to send to our office in advance so we can organize for the hearing. You can send to our office via email: baystatelawgroup@gmail.com or fax: 617-676-4034.
Courts are still encouraging Attorneys to send in new filings at this time. We will be either electronically filing or mailing the documents in.
All hearings that cannot be handled via the phone the Court is asking Attorneys to continue the matters after May 1. The Courts are still allowing emergency filings of matters of grave importance. If you are unsure simply contact the office and we can advise you as to whether the Court will allow the case to be heard at this time. Restraining Orders, Harassment Orders, Sectioning if unsafe persons are still being heard.
Our office is receiving Court updates by the hour and will have access to the most up to date information as the situation continues to unfold. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we try to safely represent you in all matters.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact this office.
Kind Regards,
Shayla Foley, Managing Paralegal
